Double Stroller
Well, we went ahead and bought a double stroller. It is probably one of the best things I've ever bought! It is dreamfully easy to maneuver (easier than my single stroller), and the girls love it! It's actually the only stroller that Caddie will sit in. We did have a lot of trouble fitting it into the car in the box, but now that it's put together, it goes in pretty easily.
We also just took a huge trip to Ikea. That store is completely amazing! I had never been there before, but Brendan said it was the best and they had good prices, and he was totally right. It is hard to just buy what's on the list, but we managed to do it (mostly because we knew we couldn't fit it in the car). Brendan is an amazing packer by the way... he fit 2 dressers, a computer desk with shelving, a kitchen cabinet and shelf set, a computer chair, and various other odds and ends in our tiny little Saturn with room to spare!

Top 5 differences between having one child and two...
Before I had Laila, everyone told me how different it would be to have two kids instead of one. I thought they were being silly, but they were totally right. The top 5 differences are....
1. Poop - it's everywhere! Someone always is pooping, is about to poop, or just pooped.
2. Time - there's never enough time to do anything! I'll plan on going to the grocery store, and before I know it, it's eight o'clock and I'm too exhausted to do anything, and then I'll look in the microwave and find my coffee that's been sitting in there for 8 hours that I already heated up four times but never quite got around to drinking. The house is always a mess, too - even after I just cleaned it, and I don't get to do that very often.
3. Food - someone's always hungry and needs to be fed, including myself and Brendan.
4. The number of toys Caddie can play with while Laila is awake has dramatically decreased. Why does everything have to have such little pieces?
5. But, it's not all bad. There is definitely more love to go around. More snuggles, hugs, and kisses. That's probably the best part and makes everything worth it!

Hair, Congratulations, Moving
Caddie is obsessed with hair these days. How many ponytails she gets, what barrettes she wants, what I do with my hair. She brushes her own hair, my hair, her dolls hair. Here is her latest creation.
I think it's a good look for me. Laila loves hair too, but mostly just for chewing. She is, by the way, the happiest baby I have ever seen in my life. She never cries and smiles and laughs at everything, especially her sister.
I also wanted to say a quick congratulations to the Crowes and the Lagrous who are expecting new babies. And to the Schneiders who just had their first baby! Congratulations to all and we wish you all well!
Also, a quick note - Brendan, Laila, Caddie, and I are all moving to St. Johns in March. Brendan got a new job there and it looks like it will become full time, so we are officially moving there. We're very excited and I think we're going to get a house with a yard (finally)!

Growing up so fast...
Ok, I know that my children are only 2 and 7 months, but time sure does fly by! I feel like it was just yesterday that Laila would just sit on my lap for hours at a time and Caddie was still potty training! Now Laila is crawling and sitting up and Caddie is actually speaking in complete sentences. They're not infants anymore!

Christmas, New Years, Hello 2010!
Christmas was crazy, but wonderful. We had both families over for brunch. Caddie and Laila received presents for about a week after Christmas was over. Every morning she would ask me for more presents! She was very disappointed when I had no more to give. The girls got tons of new toys - Thank you to everyone! New Years was fun too - the girls went to bed early, but Brendan and I actually made it to midnight this year (we've never stayed up until midnight on New Year's since we've been together). 2010 is going to be a great year. Brendan got a new job doing screen printing in St. Johns. We are so happy he gets to do artwork again! Happy 2010 everyone!

It's been a long time...
I apologize for the long break from blogging... Almost two years! So much has happened. We had a new baby girl, Laila, and Caddie is two and half years old now! We've been through a lot - a horrible pregnancy including lots of vomiting, potty training, Caddie sleeping in a "big girl" bed, breastfeeding, bottle feeding, introducing solids, new jobs, moving ...you know the drill. But it's good to be back and I'm happy that I finally have the time to share all of our goings on at the Martin house.
